What about you ?

I discovered a part of the United States 2 years ago: California !

Even if i spent only a decade of days, it was a dynamic trip!!! It was not the adventure as it was a guided tour. But i would be very happy to make my friends discover the states i saw :

- California

  - Nevada

 - Utah

 - Colorado

In cow boys' and american Indians' country, we remarked that the United States of America are very rich, in terms of landscapes.

We began our adventure in Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills... to do shopping and see where stars live. Then, we discovered so different canyons, without forgetting Calico one of the ghost town!

Yosemith Park is a national park where we can see the biggest sequoias of the world.

What surprised me: thousands wind turbines near the silicon valley!

What disappointed me:

The Grand Canyon because everybody says it is marvellous with beautiful colours, and i thought it was more coloured than it is.

My second disappointment concerns the tour, because i prefered seeing more than the riviera for the Powell Lack. I know that when we go farther, it is so magic and desert but i did not have this impression... This is the kind of drawbacks when we read books before leaving...

What i advise:

To rent a limousine in Las Vegas! It is not very expensive. We were 4 and for one hour, we paid maximum 10 $ per pax. The driver made us discover the main streets with lights and water shows, the big hotels like Caesar Palace. I will always remember the atmosphere in Las Vegas; we had the impression to be "rich" with all these casinos, high ceilings and colours... It was so relaxing to sit near the fountain in front of the Bellagio! And it refreshed us because the desert is very hot in August (Yes, Las Vegas is in the desert)!!!

To have lunch in Monument Valley with real american Indians! Thanks to our tour, we could meet american Indians around a BBQ at the core of Monument Valley. It was magic and unforgettable! The landscape is really impressive, people were so kind (even if a little bit shy) and they cook really good! We ate beef + red beans + special bread + delicious cookies...

An other unforgettable experience...but for other reason: Bryce Canyon

It was during a common afternoon... The guide proposed us to go down the canyon to see how it is beautiful. The more we went down, the more we told us it will be difficult to return at the top! Indeed it was. After several minutes of walk, we felt raindrops... We decided to go up the canyon! As you can see on the photo, the floor is red dirt. We ran but the rain went down rapidly like a strong small river!!! It was the worst rain i have seen because we were scared: we fought against this rain, we slode on the floor... my white shoes (now orange) suffered!!!

Arrived in the bus, all the persons who stayed there applauded us because we were soaked and needed help... (Thks for all who lent us their clothes)
